About The Venue
Aterra is an ecological campsite on the Southwest coast of Alentejo, Portugal, that offers a unique ‘glamping’ experience in a rustic, yet very comfortable and beautiful, family friendly environment.
It is a secluded, peaceful site in a valley surrounded by woodlands, fruit trees and grasslands where you can shower under the stars, chill out in a serene atmosphere and cool off in the enormous freshwater lake. If you are in the mood for the ocean, in just a few minutes drive you can be at one of the gorgeous beaches nearby.
Aterra aims to bring people back down to earth and step away from the world of technology, materialism. There is also an amazing gathering happening at this site (“Aterra Gathering”) every other year; this year the gathering will not take place but there are many other events and locations in the area worth visiting if you want to stick around and enjoy this gorgeous region a little more (ask us more info on this!).

In a very short distance you can find, amongst others, interesting community projects like Tamera (which we will visit with during our retreat) and also Moojibaba’s home and ashram ‘Monte Sahaja’. Mooji has and continues to inspire millions of people around the world in their quest for a more spiritual life.
Trip to Tamera

It’s water retention landscape has become known as a living example on how we can change the landscape with basic engineering knowledge.
